my journey…
Having a child was always something I wanted, I knew that much. I figured I’d find the right guy first, get married, and start trying as soon as we were ready.
Well, when my high school sweetheart didn’t work out and it took me a few years to find myself, let alone the right guy…I found that I was in a bit of a rush to try to conceive all of a sudden.
But I found the right guy, my husband Clay. And we knew we wanted kids as soon as we were married. We tried as soon as we were married and each month for 7 months I got my dreaded period back. I found myself bummed and started to wonder if there was something wrong with me.
I had a gut feeling something was up, so we took the first step and Clay went to the doctor for a semen analysis.
The doctor called us in and wanted to talk. Uh oh. He sat us down + told us Clay had azoospermia and essentially made no sperm. He recommended a specialist if we still wanted to have our own biological child.
Well, long story short (which you can check out my full fertility journey here), we went through a failed IVF cycle, took some time off, then a failed IUI, then a successful IUI.
We took a year off after the failed IVF round, which was the best decision I made. I noticed during our journey none of the doctors were talking about lifestyle or diet or what I could be doing to help prepare my body and even increase my chances of conceiving.
WHY was no one talking about this?! When women are in this position, they will literally do anything they can if it means getting their miracle babe.
So I took an entire year researching and taking matters + my health into my own hands. I wanted to prepare the best I could before our next treatment + walk into it knowing I did my best to prepare my body.
So now I’m on a mission to help women prepare for their miracle babe!
